Hi, I’m Samantha Ochoa.

 About me.

“What are you going to be when you grow up?” A doctor. An accountant. A professional beach volleyball player? The sky was the limit.

Upon earning my Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration from University of La Verne, where I focused on organizational behavior, the impact of cultural differences on business practices, and how to properly motivate individuals to accomplish organizational goals, I realized it was time to legitimately answer this question.

I am a dynamic, honest, and self-motivated individual with an enthusiasm for marketing, sales, and human resources. For the past five years, I’ve worked as a customer service representative, sales associate, and sales manager for several reputable fashion retailers. These experiences have included studying human behavior, developing interpersonal skills, engaging in value-driven conversations, and exceeding sales goals. Now, equipped with a degree, I’m ready to find an opportunity that is both challenging and rewarding. I hope to work for an organization that recognizes my potential and values my contributions.

Away from work, you can find me traveling, trying new recipes, and spending time with the people closest to me. I invite you to explore my website and learn a little bit more about me!

“Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.”

 My travels.

I’m so thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to travel.

Seeing a few far away corners of the world has taught me more than any classroom, book, or film ever could. Traveling has encouraged me to try new things, keep an open mind, and approach situations with a heightened sense of empathy.

I will take every opportunity to travel and immerse myself in a different culture. I hope to apply my travel experience to future professional opportunities and eventually fill a position with responsibilities involving global affairs.

After returning from Germany, I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Albert Rosa, a holocaust survivor, speak at The Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. It was incredibly powerful to witness someone like Albert describe his experience during a time where most of the world, and especially the European Jewish community, felt powerless under the constant threat of a hostile regime.

Albert and I shared a few minutes together and I was moved by his compassion for others and his support for the community. I walked away from this experience with so much appreciation for life and the blessings I’ve received. Since meeting Albert, I’ve challenged personal adversity by applying his teachings and philosophies. As a leader, I will focus on bringing attention to how my team or organization prepares and reacts to struggle, discomfort, and hardship.

 Giving back.

Adonai Families

Redlands, California

Helping Families in Crisis: Families who have a child with cancer.

There is an annual event held by Adonai Families that offers participants complimentary hair, make-up, and formal outfitting services so they can enjoy the traditional experience of going to an event such as prom or homecoming. They are transported by limousine or horse-drawn carriage to the venue where they can enjoy food, beverages, and dancing.

My role with Adonai Families was to facilitate activities for the children and their families such as face painting, kite flying, outdoor games, and other recreational activities. The purpose of this event is to offer a moment of celebration for families who struggle with the harsh realities of cancer every day.

Family Service Association of Redlands

Redlands, California

The Family Service Association of Redlands has been dedicated to serving the community for more than 120 years. They offer assistive care by providing essentials like food, water, and clothing, and even extending to computer classes, stress management classes, and pre-employment services.

As a volunteer, I spent most hours in their kitchen serving breakfast. This was a safe place for homeless or low-income citizens to come and enjoy a warm meal. I found this amazing organization as a college student and plan to offer my time and support moving forward.

 Let’s connect.

I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and discussing future travel plans. Let’s have lunch or enjoy a cup of coffee together!
